When Reinhard Schäppi moved from Switzerland to Spain, he first worked in a completely different field: together with a business partner, he helped build one of the largest online business networks on the Costa Blanca, at a time when the internet was still new to the region and most local companies hadn't discovered its potential yet. The business grew quickly — almost too quickly for the local market, which was still years behind in adopting the technology.

The Moment Everything Changed

The turning point came on a construction site, not in an office. Working alongside a German builder on a swimming pool project, Reinhard found himself mixing cement by hand in the formwork — and realised, in that moment, that he wanted to build things himself rather than sell advertising space around them.

He bought his first set of tools and started taking on small renovation and construction jobs, primarily for the Costa Blanca's German-speaking community. Word spread quickly. As demand increased, Reinhard brought skilled tradesmen from Germany to support the growing workload. Building reliable teams was not always easy, and the early years involved constant learning, adaptation and improvement.
